After the intensification of European sanctions, Russia has repeatedly asked neighboring countries to increase trade cooperation, and Iran, by participating in the Nostrak agreement, in addition to exporting goods to Russia, can use this regional opportunity to activate the North-South corridor and increase transit revenues. What prevents us from using this opportunity is the lack of a suitable program for transporting goods along the route of this corridor and especially the northern ports. In the past, the most important criticisms and complaints of businessmen and economic activists in the Russian region have been the lack of a regular schedule for the departure of ships from the northern ports, which they consider to be the reason for the high cost of sea transportation in the northern ports of the country, according to the representative of the people of Gilan in the parliament. Ilana, the biggest obstacle to increasing the traffic of northern ports is the lack of a regular schedule for the departure of other cargo ships, and when the cargo is ready to be transported, we do not have a ship to transport it, and when the ship enters the port, we do not have cargo ready to be transported. Therefore, with the agreement of the Caspian Trade and Shipping Development Organization (shipping companies of the Islamic Republic of Iran), regular cargo transportation from northern ports was to begin from November last year, and according to this memorandum, with capacity control, cargo be transported in any size and quantity, and the trade development organization undertakes to compensate the possible loss for the shipping company for the orderly transportation of the goods, and from this place the ship will move from the northern ports to the designated destinations with any amount of planned cargo. About the implementation of this process and the performance of the shipping company in the northern ports, Rozbeh Mokhtari, the head of the board of directors of the Association of Shipping and Related Services, stated: The shipping performance of the Islamic Republic of Iran is the same as the performance of other government companies, and whatever subsidies they assign and pay to this company It does not actually take any action and at least we expected that due to the allocation of these subsidies, they would not increase the freight fare and order would be established in the movement of shipping vessels of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He continued: Considering the conditions of the Caspian Sea, subsidies and subsidies should be allocated to active private sector companies, but since the support and subsidies do not include real private sector companies, we are witnessing the same events in the northern ports as in the southern ports. And if shipping of the Islamic Republic of Iran considers itself a private sector, the question is why government subsidies in this area only include this company? Referring to the actions taken to increase the traffic of goods from northern ports to Russia, the chairman of the board of directors of the shipping association said: Although there have been many talks about increasing trade cooperation with Russia and increasing the transportation of goods in this direction, so far there has been no executive decision based on which action has been taken. to take, has not been seen.
Referring to the subsidized traffic of shipping in the northern ports, according to the understanding of the trade development organization, and also to the complaints of the businessmen about the lack of regular traffic of shipping vessels in the situation where the cargo is concentrated in the northern ports, he said: I do not consider this information to be accurate. The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Company is active as the leader of the transportation market in the country, but other shipping lines are also active in the country. In the north of the country, the shipping company has only 35% of the market share, and the majority of the market share has been given to other transportation companies. . The CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping emphasized that this company has not received any subsidies or subsidies and stated: not only have we not received any subsidies, perhaps due to sanctions problems, the cost of some shipping services in the Islamic Republic of Iran is higher than the world prices. but since we consider ourselves obliged to make the prices we offer competitive, that's why we are present in the market as the leader of commercial transportation. He said about the supply of the company's fleet through the use of internal capacities and power: the contract for General Cargo ships has been concluded and its construction has progressed by 20%, and the engineering design of the Ro-Ro vessels has been completed and the construction of the Ro-Ro ships has also begun. The ship will be handed over to the shipping company in the next 2 years. About the possibility of this company's participation in the Chabahar port operator tender, Modares Khayabani stressed: Various companies are under the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Company and we are definitely interested in participating in the port sector in addition to vessels. Referring to the launch of a regular line in Chabahar Port, the CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Company said: The regular line between Chabahar Port and India has been launched, and ships of the shipping company ply this route at least once a week. He stated that last year, despite the sanctions and the spread of the corona virus, we broke the transportation record, he said: Last year, the shipping company of the Islamic Republic of Iran moved a total of 27 million tons of goods and broke the record, and in the first three months of this year as well. We experienced a 20% growth in commercial transportation.
